Well here is Mandi and I at the Omaha Zoo, in the jungle. Humidity and all.
With the pot bellies, we're at that awkward stage of are you fat or pregnant? I hate that!
They're getting to know this zoo like home they've been so many times. But they were so good. Mandi claims she will never let me complain about my children again after this weekend, but I swear they were on special behavior for her visit.
This is at the underwater aquarium. It's way cool. A long tunnel where sting rays and sharks swim over and around you. It's supposedly the longest underwater tunnel in the country. Woo hoo, Omaha does have some claim to fame!
You can see the shark right above their heads.
We had to snap a shot of a sting ray. They look like they're smiling, and their little mouths open and close as they swim along.
You can see the shark right above their heads.
Happy little fish.
The cool jellyfish, they had a big tank of them. So amazing to watch how they move.
But it stresses me out that they are on display all the time. The mother constantly looks like a nervous wreck with the cameras flashing and the crowds. I feel bad for her.
I really think this is the daddy. Doesn't he look like he should be the dad?
Mandi loved this gorilla. They had a complete photo session together. Quite amusing.
One of the few albino crocodiles in captivity. This guys a monster.
Here is another wild animal found at the zoo.
They should definitely put this one in a cage!
Here is another dejavu moment. After the zoo we drove over to winter quarters. This time we passed on the tour and wandered on our own.
Aren't our little pioneers adorable!
It's so easy to get Mandi to do anything.
Me: Mandi put on this bonnet and let me take your picture.
Mandi: No, I'm not doing that.
Me: Just do it!
Mandi: Alright.
Me: Just do it!
Mandi: Alright.
Me: And pose with the wagon!
So easy...

Yay for a new post (FINALLY!). I'm glad you guys had a fun visit. Your recap of getting Mandi to take a pioneer picture was hilarious. I definitely love that Mandi's game for anything.
I have so been meaning to get a post up about the visit, but have been either too tired or too busy! I'm glad you did though. It was so much fun and I'm glad we have the pictures to remember it! I feel I must defend myself that not everybody can get me to do anything =) you're just special that way . . . no, I think it's just my siblings. What can I say, I'm a sucker!
Okay, who was more fun to come and visit? Probably not me, I have to admit. Reading about the week brought back good memories and I do love your zoo! I bet Talin was probably not disappointed seeing Mandi and asking why Wesley was not brought along.
What a great zoo you have! The sting ray looks so cute with his little face. How fun to have your sister visit!
