She's Gone! 
My sanity was dropped of at the airport yesterday at 6:30 in the morning. Oh my goodness how I miss her!
It was so nice to have Cyndee around for a month. I'm just now realizing how much help she really was. For some reason the dishes keep piling up, the dishwasher has not been unloaded and no one has made the kids pancakes in two days.
We all REALLY miss her!
This is what we did her second to last day here. Stayed up till midnight on Saturday making this glorious five layered chocolate cake.
Caleb helped and shared in the bounty of chocolate.
And I shaved every blasted chocolate curl.

Nice tribute to you mom... She will be back soon just hang on... Hope all the fevers are gone today.. The cake is truly amazing I do NOT do or know how you all do those amazing desserts we have NO desserts anymore since you have left it will be good when you are close again....
I'm sure you guys enjoyed that cake! It looks fabulous - did it taste as good as it looks? I will say that I was happy to see mom yesterday because you stole her for a long time! Life will never be the same without Maria, will it? Also, I just can't get over how thick Caleb's hair is - crazy!
That cake looks yummy. You are amazing and do make the best desserts. Adam still talks about those cinnomon rolls you brought over when we lived next door. Your Cyndee is the best.
I want a bite of that cake. No, I want you to move here and be my baking slave. Ya, that's more like it. But I do fear that we'll have far too many midnight adventures when you do. And you get grumpy without sleep.
I LOVE the tangle of hands & feet in that first picture. Love it.
p.s. I'm really proud of you for saying "blasted" chocolate curl instead of "damn"!
That cake looks sooo good. Don't worry about the house..dishes can wait. You'll get the important stuff done eventually...right? :) Yeah, in your "spare time".
I just think that you Mom is amazing. How fun that she got to spend a month with you and your family!! Beautiful cake. I think that I need some.
